Representatives from SIMAD University Library and ICT Office participated in the UNESCO–CERN School on Digital Libraries 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya, joining African librarians and ICT experts in training for better access to research resources.
International Collaboration for Digital Libraries
On October 8–12, 2018, SIMAD University was represented at the UNESCO–CERN School on Digital Libraries, held at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. The program was co-organized by:
- The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN)
- The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
- University of Nairobi

Purpose of the School
The UNESCO–CERN School on Digital Libraries is designed to:
- Train African librarians and ICT professionals in digital resource management
- Improve access to academic and research databases
- Enhance institutional digital library strategies
- Strengthen collaboration across African universities
